How We Support Regional and Content Centers
ELP is dedicated to partnering with regional and content centers to support states and districts in designing and implementing effective policies and practices for multilingual learners, ensuring that every student can thrive academically. ELP provides capacity-building services designed to help:
- Support the selection, implementation, and scaling-up of evidence-based practices.
- Meet the needs of English Learners in learning English.
- Address key areas, such as language acquisition and the needs of English Learners with disabilities.
- Increase access to high-quality language programs so that all students can become proficient in reading, writing, and oral language skills.
Services that increase the understanding and reach of EBPs and research related to ELP’s identified priorities, with a focus on broad dissemination and services that are designed for the widest possible audience of educators, policymakers, and technical-assistance providers. Universal supports are also informed by what is learned from targeted efforts and serve to disseminate resources to broader audiences.
Services that address needs common to ELP’s clients/partners and are often delivered through existing partnerships, though may not be highly individualized. These services are designed to increase the understanding and implementation of EBPs and typically engage an identified group of Regional Centers/SEAs/LEAs around shared needs/priorities. These services may include multi-session design and will embed adult learning principles and link to other ELP learning structures/materials.
Services that are highly specialized, in-depth supports delivered in partnership with Regional Centers to meet specific, high-leverage or urgent needs. ELP does not focus primarily on these but will contribute selectively when strategic alignment and capacity exist.
